Michal Zahora:
"There is always just the music - the rhythm, the heart beat, breath.
Crossing the street, the sound of cars creates a certain rhythm and
structure. Dance can bring another dimension to music - polyphonic, not just a monophonic illustration of what we hear. The body is the instrument of the self. If we only tell stories with it we make a limitation on a great complexity. There is always the mind, spirit, physical and emotional; these layers connect together in the dance. Dance is a communication about a concern, starting from an idea or inspiration, but as movement has many layers it is not concrete for me. It goes into an abstract level. But still we can understand it, from
within."
"Resonance stands as real choreography which clearly differs from ordinary
dance..."
Petr Sourek / New Space Magazine, February 2008
“...Romanticism of the whole thing and as a part of the contemporary dance pragmatism and competitiveness is at most surprising, moreover courageous, it stands against conventions at such a degree. However it does not go backwards, towards the conservative solution, but forward into the heart of a mystery of a human being …. Zahora has his choreography firmly under the control. With this, he nowadays surpasses the average – nothing is accidental, it is an author’s absolute gesture. The NANOHACH company stated theirs winning position. Zahora has ejected himself amongst the big choreographic talents.”
Nina Vangeli / "Hospodarske Noviny" Newspaper, 2.11.2007 ( Resonance )
the article Mysticism of womanhood flourishes in a dance
"...an enthralling and emotionally charged piece. ...a piece which provides excellent vehicles for polished dance performances."
Thom Dibdin / The Stage, 20. 9. 2007 (Resonance)
"...It's a feast for the senses, ideal if you just want to sit back and revel in exceptional dancing complemented by painterly lighting, atmospheric music and beautiful costuming. ...dancers brilliantly sustain the shifting rhythms of Zahora's choreography, creating a sisterhood that is both mythic and compellingly human."
Mary Brennan / The Herald, 21. 9. 2007 (Resonance)
